Having a rough night

Tonight was Michael's class which means I had to take care of Ben from 3AM to 10PM with no one to help me. The day was good, we went to a play date and he took a couple of naps but the evening was rough. Just about the time I wanted to eat Ben started the "unhappy hour". I fed him and tried to put him down for the night. I ate as fast as I could because he wasn't going to sleep. He was in a cycle of crying then quiet. After I finished eating I fed him a little more, burped him, changed him, then put him in bed. He seems to be quiet. I read on Baby Center and What to Expect the First Year that this is about the time his sleeping patterns start to change but I don't know how I'm supposed to adjust to it. Our place is small, we don't have any space dedicated for Ben. If he's going to be up more, I don't know what to do with him.

I also think Postpartum depression is starting. I thought it was something that happened the first couple of weeks but I guess not. I'm going to have to talk to someone about it. Tomorrow, I will call the pediatrician for a recommendation.

The play date was nice. I arrived late because I had to feed Ben and stop at the grocery store to pick something up. I had not seen the group in awhile, either because of other engagements or I was not ready. They all commented on how big Ben has become. The home it was hosted at was very nice. It was farther out in the county on 5 acres of land. The house was surrounded by about .5 acres of cleared land with the rest being wooded. It as a nice layout. It was also a nice location, it only took 20 - 30 minutes to get there. The commute to where I work would probably be 40 minutes at most, with no traffic. I would like something like that some day.
