Happy Mother's Day

Okay, its a little early but Michael gave me a Mother's Day present when I got home from work.

Today I had one of the worst days ever. It began with a 3-hour meeting and ended with nothing getting done. And alot of people angry at me about it.

Michael ordered my present from a website called Dollar Days. At Dollar Days one can buy in bulk at very reasonable prices. I joked I was going to receive a case of dragonfly pins for a dollar. Anyway, the gift arrived today. As we were sitting on the couch, I thought I smelled licorice. I thought maybe Michael got some Liquorice Altoids at Safeway. When I open the box I see he bought me a case of my favourite Liquorice Altoids.

Cassandra Anne

Yesterday I received the saddest news. The younger daughter of a friend of mine passed away at 19 months old.

Both Cassie and her older sister Lesley had been born with health problems. They both required so much care Daria (my friend) left her job to take care of them full time. Through the surgeries and the doctors and specialist visits Daria always felt it was worth it. She didn't care how difficult it was, those laughs and smiles are worth it.

I don't know what to say to her to ease her pain. Just that I care about her and her family and I am here if she needs me.

Happy Birthday Big Bear

Today we went out to dinner with Michael's parents to celebrate his birthday which is tomorrow. At 7 1/2 months, Ben is not as portable as he used to be. Even though he can sit on his own he requires a lot more attention. We spent the dinner passing him from parent to grandparent. At one point I ended up sitting on a bench outside of the restaurant.

I spent most of the day trying to find Michael a birthday present. I wanted to get pajamas for him (I know big yawn). I first went to Banana Republic where they sell them, just not at that location. Then I went to Joseph A Banks and if my husband was 30 years older, maybe I would have bought them for him. The final place I went was J. Crew where they don't sell pajamas but they do sell sweat pants and T-shirts.

After that, I went to Thomas Pink to try on shirts. I realize I am way too fat. I have to lose this weight, it can't be healthy for me.
